Nothing terribly too exciting, just the ordinary everyday stuff during this last month. You wouldn't believe, there was a lady doing face painting outside the supermarket on Saturday morning so we thought, "Why not?" Of course K asked for a butterfuly to be painteed on her face.
We checked out Essendon Traffic School this weekend. They have a great set up, a mini road system with operating traffic lights, roundabouts, pedestrian crossing, school cossing, give way and stop signs, even a petrol station. Kids can take along their own bike or hire one of the many provided. K felt comfortable on a tricycle and even tried out a bicycle, with training wheels. We had great fun, except that it was freezing cold, not that you can tell by the photos.

Finally, the day The Boy was dreading arrived. It was no different to any other day, mind you, but it marked a special occasion for my darling, the big-five-oh. Respeciting his wishes not to make a big deal out of it, we celebrated with the family at a local Greek restuarant, Paradise of Lindos before returning home for sweets and cammomile tea, I did mention someone was turning 50.
Did you realise that in the year 1958 Edmund Hillary reached the South Pole, Elvis Presley joined the Army(surely you're not saying who's Elvis Presley), NASA was created, Brazil won the soccer World Cup (again), children's building blocks Lego went on sale, the US launched its first satellite "Explorer 1" which exploded at 50,000 feet , West Germany joined NATO, Castro launched an attack on the Cuban military and it was the Year of the Dog? All that and George Ginis was born.

Three generations of Ginis s, Pappou Con, The Boy and K.

Me with my darling Georgie Boy.

Georgie with Steve, Anthon and Joanne.

Steve and Georgie had an interesting conversation about who had a bigger girth, had to use the tape measure to prove the point. Who, you ask. Not telling.

Joanne holding Anthon and Helen.

The two dads, my father-in-law, Con and my father, Tim. they both go to the same hair stylist.

K was fairly hungry by the time we got round to dinner. She thought this piece of octopus was chicken. Funny how all kids think all white meat is chicken.

The family at dinner. From left to right: K, Georgie Boy, Pappou Con, Pappou Tim, Giagia Haidi, Joanne, Helen, Steve, Anthon, Me, Tina and Bruce. Poor Jason was chopped out of the picture, but we did manage to get a photo with Jason, K, me and Georgie.

Back home to sing "Happy Birthday." Many happy returns to my darling. Thankyou to everyone who phoned or texted with your wishes and thoughts.

Both grandfathers celebrate their birthdays in June, Pappou Con at the start of June and Pappou Tim right at the end. While Pappou Con had a quiet night at home, we went out for Pappou Tim's birthday.
The Boy turns the big 5 O next week, so look out for more photos. In the meantime, check out the grandfather birthday shots.

Pappou Con with Jason, Tina, Helen and K.

"Happy Birthday Pappou Tim."

Mum and Dad, as if Dad needs a reason to have a drink.

Steve and Joanne.

Me with The Boy and Brie Ella.

"Sorry we blew out the candle Pappou."

Mmmm, coffee and cake.

and now for the rock version of "Happy Birthday".

I cant believe that it's only been five years since the Boy and I said I do. It feels longer than that, much longer. Anyway, we took the time to revisit one of the places we visitied on our wedding day, the Consevatory at Fitzroy Gardens as well as go out to lunch at the Docklands.
The Consevatory was beautiful. It was warm inside, perfect on a cold Sunday morning, as well as so lush with greenery. Two ponds inside had goldfish too which amused K, who tried to count the fish, only they wouldn't stay still.

This shot was taken by K.

Georgie Boy still looks as dashing as that day five years ago.

After visiting the Consevatory it was off to lunch at the Docklands. After a long lunch we took a walk along the promenade and admired the boats as well as the ever changing Melbourne skyline.

K loves spending time with her cousins. I've taken a few shots in action with her younger cousin, Anthon.
Cooking up a storm.
Brushing teeth.
Happy Mother's Day to all the mums out there.
